FDC/aerofilter Now European Aviation Safety Agency Approved On Several Models.

Novato, CA February 6, 2005 FDC/aerofilter has obtained product approval from the newly formed European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) for several of its barrier filter systems on single engine helicopters. Previously FAA Supplemental Type Certificate approvals had been obtained from the FAA. Over the past year FDC/aerofilter and its engineering services supplier, Intec Helicopters, Inc. have extended the FAA approvals to the European authority so that products are now approved in all of the 16 member countries. Models covered are the Bell 206 family (including 407), MD Helicopters 369 family (including 600N), Eurocopter AS-350 family and the AS-350 D as well as the EC-130B4.
"These approvals open the way for European operators to have the same level of engine erosion protection as currently available to operators in the United States," says Andrew Rowen, President of FDC/aerofilter. "Proven benefits of positive inlet filtration are becoming well known in the industry as engines that have been protected since last overhaul are now making it to scheduled hot sections and full TBO. Engine manufacturers are also realizing the benefits of happy customers who now consider unscheduled removals a thing of the past".
Operators of European registered Bell, MD and Eurocopter France helicopters may visit FDC/aerofilter at booth 2449 at the International Helicopter Convention in Anaheim, CA, February 6 through 8, 2005. Look for the heliport landing markers on the floor.
"All of the FDC/aerofilter systems are designed for ease of installation and fitting within the existing contour of the helicopter. This assures that the aerodynamics or the aesthetics of the helicopter are not affected by this cost savings system", adds Andrew Rowen.
