Press Release

FDC/aerofilter announces EASA approval STC EASA.IM.R.S.01459 for S-76 A+, A++, C, C+

European Operators of Arriel Powered S76 helicopters have the same level of Engine Protection US Operators enjoy

Novato, CA, February 13, 2008 - IBF Industry leader FDC/aerofilter announced today that EASA issued the STC on February 5, 2009 for all Sikorsky S-76 Turbomeca Arriel I & II powered helicopters. This STC release follows on from FAA Approval of amended STC SR01616SE on 2 September 2008, and JCAB Approval 2 December 2008.

FDC Vice President and Director of Certification Russell Goulden noted, ''The EASA STC issue allows European Operators of Arriel Powered S76 helicopters to have the same level of engine protection and increased safety that U.S.A. operators enjoy. It is timely for P.B.T.H rates to be reviewed between Operators and P.B.T.H. Suppliers as the installation of an I.B.F. system clearly provides reduction in DOC. Transport Canada Validation is underway.

FDC Director Global Sales & Business Developments Ann Cooper says, "This recent EASA approval answers the demand expressed by European operators for the last few years and fully supports FDC's global expansion plan."

FDC President Andrew Rowen pointed out that this was the final certification step to allow installation of the S76 IBF system anywhere in the world for Turbomeca Arriel powered S76.

FDC/ Director of Operations Sharon Stark expressed delight at finally being able to ship to European S76 Customers. FDC’s first European Customer is Sikorsky S76 fleet operator Norrfly of Sweden. FDC/aerofilter systems provide total engine protection for turbine helicopters under all conditions, increasing safety, reducing maintenance costs, eliminating FOD and erosion.
